# Scheduling on cPanel

**Spaceship Supreme:** use [the dedicated guide](../../docs/spaceship-supreme.md) and `HOSTING_PROFILE=spaceship`. The generic persistent-process instructions below apply only to `HOSTING_PROFILE=standard`.

The scheduler is a continuous lease-based Node process. Supervise `node scheduler.js` and `node worker.js` using the host's supported persistent-process facility. Do not schedule either command repeatedly with cron.

Cron may run a host-specific backup wrapper which locks against overlapping snapshots, drains writers, invokes `bin/backup.js`, verifies the archive, copies it to protected off-host storage and records success/failure. The wrapper must use absolute paths, mode-0600 credential files, bounded runtime and alerts. A database-only dump is not a complete media/secrets recovery point.
